By Debbie Sickmiller, Ways and Means Chairman Yes, they are here! At the June 2008 board meeting we discussed designing a state membership pin. An “Ad Hoc” committee of Carmie DeVito, Steve Speakman, Jan Brasier, and me, was formed to come up with a design, the cost to manufacture, and source for the pins. Five designs were submitted. Congrats go out to Jan Brasier for having the winning design. The pins arrived November 1st. As you can see from the photo, they are beautiful! You can wear the 11/2” pin as a broche or there is a loop on the back so that it can be worn as a necklace. You will need to take it to a jeweler to remove the clasp of your chain, to slide it through the loop, or you can place it on a ribbon to wear. It has been decided to sell the pins for $10.00 each, plus shipping. For one pin the shipping is $1.75, for 5 pins $2.25, and for 10 pins $3.00. They are heavy. I will have them at the February board meeting if you want to get them from your District Director at the spring district meetings. To receive them at the district meetings, I will have to have your order and payment before February 15th. I will also have them at the state convention. These would make great gifts for your club’s outgoing president or a gift for your favorite garden clubber, or a new member in your club, and don’t forget to get one for yourself! Orders should be placed with me, Debbie Sickmiller. You can reach me at 419- 281- 4336, email me at sickmiller@zoominternet.net or mail to me at 122 Highland Blvd.., Ashland, OH 44805. Checks should be made payable to Garden Club of Ohio, Inc. and payment must be received before the pin/s are mailed out. Take a moment to order this beautiful pin today! |
